GIEFFE KITCHENS: GREEN3
What does "design" mean today? And what is the meaning of "comfort"? The reflections on these points have guided us towards design solutions that transform the kitchen space into a context of experience and life connected to the most urgent and global instances of eco-compatibility, health and sustainability:
- a contemporary kitchen is beautiful only if the aesthetic value of its forms is combined with the highest level of healthiness of its construction materials to the benefit and protection of those who live in it every day
- a contemporary kitchen is functional only when the performance of the design is combined with a production process that protects and safeguards the environment and nature.
Gieffe kitchens are noble and healthy spaces, precisely because this dual vision has become a conscious, operational, documented and certified choice that invests 3 construction aspects of our models.
GIEFFE chooses
> RENNER CERTIFIED LOW-EMISSION PAINTS
for building kitchens without impact on health
Renner Italia - GREENGUARD Gold coatings, which are also suitable for use in contexts such as schools and healthcare facilities, are tested and certified by UL (Underwriters Laboratories), the world's leading safety organisation, which also applies them to indoor air quality.
All products are characterised by low emissions of volatile organic compounds, reducing the impact of indoor exposure and improving air quality.
> SAIB REP 3 PANELS CERTIFIED WITH LOW FORMALDEHYDE CONTENT
REP 3 panels produced by SAIB are made with melamine resins with low formaldehyde content for kitchens, vanity tops and bathroom furniture. The REP panel is a certified product compliant with formaldehyde classes F4 STARS - CARB P2 US EPA TSCA Title VI.
This choice guarantees for Gieffe kitchens the substantial reduction of VOLATILE ALDEIDS, among which the most notable is formaldehyde. In certain concentrations it can cause irritation to the respiratory tract and eyesight, especially for those who suffer from allergies and asthma. If ingested or inhaled in large quantities, formaldehyde is lethal.
Furthermore, REP 3 panels produced by SAIB are the result of a company process called REWOOD, by means of which
250,000 TREES ARE NOT CUT DOWN EVERY YEAR.

> GIEFFE KITCHENS IN PET: POLYETHYLENE TEREPHTHALATE
PET, or polyethylene terephthalate, is a material with which GIEFFE builds some of the structures of their models.
Derived from oil and natural gas and widely used in the food, cosmetics and pharmacological industries, PET's eco-compatibility is mainly due to two factors:
- Its total recyclability: it can be recycled and reprocessed indefinitely - saving up to 50% of the energy otherwise used to obtain the same object from scratch - avoiding that the PET object looses its characteristics.
- Its chemical structure, consisting only of oxygen, carbon and hydrogen, means that only water, carbon dioxide and oxygen are released in the process of incineration.
